Khalid Choukri

Khalid Choukri, ELDA

Dr. Khalid CHOUKRI obtained an Electrical Engineering degree (1983) from the National School of Civil Aviation (ENAC), and master’s degree (1984) and doctoral degrees (1987) in Computer sciences and Signal processing at the National School of Telecommunications (Telecom ParisTech) in Paris.

Khalid has occupied a number of positions at Cap Gemini Innovation R&D and ACSYS as a project manager and consultant in speech processing, oral dialogues, and neural networks.

Since 1995, he has been the CEO of ELDA (Evaluations and Language resources Distribution Agency), a SME employing 10-15 people, and the Secretary general of ELRA language Resources Association. As such he has been strongly involved in the identification, collection and distribution of multilingual and multimodal language data and resources, including the related IPR clearing and data protection issues, the Language Technologies evaluation, and the dissemination through the LREC conference (Language Resources and Evaluation).

During this period, he has also been in charge a number of French and European projects pertaining to Language Technologies and data, including European Language Data Space.
